During
the opening ceremony of the Hispanic Heritage month carried out the September
15, 2015 in the police and firemen's Memorial Plaza of the city of Atlantic
City, NJ “The Dominican House of NJ” arrived in the eighth year of celebration
of Hispanic Heritage Month; the event was headed by the Mayor of the city
Donald A. Guardian, Lic. Erika Guzmán, Alternate Consul General Consulate of
Mexico in Philadelphia; Lic Marco Antonio Fortanel, Consul Administrative of
the Mexican Consulate in Philadelphia; Dr. Luis Rodriguez, president of the Dominican
House of NJ, the sacerdote Fernando Carmona, Párraco of the Church of Santa
Monica, among other personalities, community leaders and media. It is a source
of pride for the Dominican House of NJ, nominate Moisse Delgado, a person that
we consider highly suitable to receive the recognition of the Hispanic Person
of the year, this the eighth edition of the said event.
We
believe that by the services provided in favor of our community the Mr.
Delgado, complement them precisely and make it highly deserving of the
respectability and the opportunity to give it the recognition of the Hispanic
Person of the Year 2015.
Moisse
Delgado is a person who by their excellence and dedication in the performance
of their duties and public community makes it worthy of this nomination.
To
further support this nomination, we are delighted to express our reasons in
detail in favor of the nominee and the various human qualities that
characterize it. Moisse Delgado fighting for what he feels is right, he loves a
good challenge, with his work in Public Service, Health, Education, Art,
Community Volunteerism, and in Social Services, etc. , has led to a positive
change in our community.
Moisse
graduated from Atlantic City High School 1988. College Educated at Kean
University 1992 in Public Administration, Marketing, and Africana Studies.
Moisse
is proud to be married since September 24 2005, and are blessed along with his
wife to have a son. He is responsible for various community based initiatives
that provide resources to those less fortunate including food for Thanksgiving,
a warm cup of soup and a warm coat to the homeless and toys for children less
fortunate at Christmas. Through his many associations he drives educational
opportunities toward deserving children who are less fortunate. Advocating for
Immigrants rights and a better road to Citizenship, he works diligently to make
the American Dream one we can all obtain. He coordinates a city wide Easter Egg
Hunt who is enjoyed by over a thousand children every year.
He is the chairman
of Atlantic City’s Committee for Multicultural Programming and lead coordinator
of Unity Festival 2015 and is presently working on a “Senior’s Prom” and
another Haunted Hotel Charity event that he is lead organizer for as well. He
elected to the position of Councilman-at-Large of the City of Atlantic City in
2010 and again in 2013 and proudly serves in that capacity along as every other
hat he wears that benefits the community. Moisse is a unifier and a leader and
through his admirable traits we found him to best suit the title and Honor of
being the “Hispanic of the Year”.
