La Casa Dominicana de New Jersey-  da a conocer a toda la comunidad e instituciones el regreso del programa educativo que incluye: clases gratis de inglés que se impartirán los días lunes y viernes de 5:30 de la tarde a 7:30 de la noche a partir del 25 de Septiembre 2017  al 18 de Diciembre 2017.  Las clases de inglés se ofrecen en Atlantic City Police Athletic League que está ubicado en 250 N. New York Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.

Luis Rodriguez, presidente de la referidada organizacion dice que el programa de inglés ha sido diseñado para las personas que no pueden hablar o entender el inglés. saben sólo algunas palabras o simplemente algunas frases. Se enfocará en gramática, vocabulario, lectura y escritura.

Yvette Soto in 1990, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University, with a major in Elementary Education and a major in Communications (Television Production). Yvette has written, directed and produced the following musical plays: Se Oyen Gritos, Caras de Vida, Sueño Sin Esperanza; La Droga, El Monstruo; Seven Reality Monologues and Navidad Sin Cristo. She has also directed and acted in a number of plays. She was a member of Nuestra Cultura Theater Group. In 1992, she did her professional debut in a leading role of Juanita for René Marqués play, La Carreta.


In 2005, she wrote and directed the musical play Se Oyen Gritos where she founded Kerygma Theater
Company. Kerygma Theater Company introduces individuals to Theater Arts in the form of acting, song and dance. Most recently, she wrote and directed the musical production “Caras de Vida.”



She taught Bilingual Education for the Windham Public Schools system in Connecticut for (3) years. After attending Cleveland State University where she started her graduate work, she then moved to the city of Atlantic City to work for the Atlantic City Free Public Library as their Director of Development/Public Information Officer. She worked for the city of Atlantic City for (5) years.



After volunteering for the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter for (3) years, she accepted the position of Major Gifts Officer. She was responsible for raising funds for the Disaster Relief efforts of the American Red Cross as well as for other areas. She oversaw the Fund Development Department and the Public Relations Department of the American Red Cross in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties. Ms. Soto served as a member of the National Headquarters American Red Cross Corporate Diversity Hispanic/Latino Network.



Yvette Soto served as Vice President and Public Relations Officer for the Atlantic County Puerto Rican
Parade and has been serving as President since 1999. The Atlantic County Puerto Rican Parade is a nonprofit organization with the stated purpose of preserving the heritage, culture and history of Puerto Rico in New Jersey and recognizing the important economic, social and cultural contributions made by Puerto Ricans and all Latinos. She founded the Latin Music Festival of the parade organization. 



Yvette is the President & CEO of Worldwide Entertainment Enterprises, LLC since 1996. Worldwide Entertainment Enterprises, LLC is known for producing live concert events, studio music production and has been producing the Puerto Rican Parade and Latin Music Festival in Atlantic City since 1996. WEE, LLC also produces Gospel concerts to raise funds for Latin America Hunger Relief. Dominican Republic Relief is her most recent humanitarian project.  



Yvette was part of the Spanish Community Center, where she serves as the Major Gifts Officer and New Programs Development Director for the agency.

Hispanic Heritage Month 2017

Atlantic City’s annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration — presented by La Casa Dominicana of NJ, the City of Atlantic City and Atlantic City Free Public Library — will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 15 at Police and Firefighters Memorial Plaza (located between City Hall and the Main Library) This free event will feature music and dance performances, plus special guest appearances..
Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
September 15 marks the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and 18, respectively.
